Compel Worship

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

John 4:23-24

What is Worship?

From its first mention, worship has been vital to God. He asked Abraham to give up something of great value (his own son) to worship Him. God does not view worship as something to be taken lightly, and neither does Compel Church. We believe that worship is of utmost importance and that to worship, we must offer God everything that we have. Worship is our opportunity to show God His worth, and in turn, a chance to commune with Him. He is worthy of all our praise and we’ve been blessed beyond measure to be able to meet Him face to face.

Although worship can mean many things, we use music as the vehicle of worship. See 1 Sam. 16:23, 2 Kings 3:15, Psalms 33:3, and Psalms 144:9 (pretty much all of Psalms) just to name a few. God gave us seemingly endless examples of musical worship. Things such as singing, dancing, playing instruments skillfully, and bowing down are all mentioned and done regularly in the Bible to worship Him.

We know also that all throughout the Bible, when people would worship, the Spirit of God fell among them and the Lord did great things. Compel believes in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This means that while we don’t chase miracles for the sake of seeing them, we know that God will do them all the same to prove His love for us and to bless our lives here on the earth.

Our worship ministry brings musical worship each Sunday morning. We also host quarterly prayer and worship nights dedicated to just that - Seeking The Three-in-One God through worship and prayer.
